Buttons and Belle are part of our Sock Monkey Program at Hiland Hill. The sock monkey socks (Red Heal Socks) originated here in Rockford, IL . This original program created for Hiland Hill Preschool, helps to encourage responsibility with an emphasis on language arts. Each child has the opportunity to take a sock monkey home along with the class journal. The preschools take care of their monkey for a weekend and journal the activities they did together. They also practice writing their name and work on learning their address. When they return to school with the sock monkey the children have the opportunity to share their adventures with the class. |
